    2、Working principle of magnetostrictive position sensor

           Detection principle of magnetostrictive linear position sensor is based on a magnetic of graviation and the coupling effect between the core test components of sensor-magnetostrictive waveguide components and cursor,the so-called Wiedemann effect.


     

          When measuring,incentive module in electronic storehouse applies a current pulse at both ends of the magnetostrictive waveguide.The pulse forms a week of a magnetic field to ring pulse around the waveguide silk at the speed of light.When the ring magnetic field and the bias magnetic field of the cursor couples,there will form WeiDeMan effect torsional stress wave on the surface of waveguide silk,and the torsion wave spreads from generate point to the both ends of the silk at its intrinsic rate in the waveguide material(about 2800m/s).The wave which spread to the end will be recieved by the damping device and which spread to incentive end will be recieved by detection device.Control module in electronic warehouse will calculate the time difference between the query pulse and the received signal,then it multiplies its eigenvalue speed.Its calculation result is the distance between torsional wave happening position and measuring reference point,and that is the absolute distance between the cursor in the instantaneous and the measuring reference point, so as to measure the position of cursor accuratly and in time.
